Meeting Notice – Brampton Community Centre 2 pm Friday 31 October |
||
|
Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association have been working closely with British Telecom for some time to arrange local events in towns and villages throughout Cumbria, offering support to local people about the ‘Digital Voice’ Programme. The dismantling of the old copper landlines and replacement with fibre optic lines is a national programme across all networks and providers which is already taking place. As a result of these events, we were able to identify a number of issues experienced by rural communities including power cuts and poor mobile phone signals. In the meantime, members of Parliament representing Cumbrian Constituencies have been meeting relevant stakeholders involved in the Digital Switchover in the House of Commons. With this in mind Julie Minns, MP, will attend our AGM at Brampton Community Centre at 2 pm on Friday 31 October to talk about the Digital Switchover.
You are invited to attend our AGM to hear from Julie Minns and have the opportunity to ask questions about any concerns you might have.
David Allen, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner will also be attending to talk about his work in particular Anti Social Behaviour etc.
We are also delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Cumbria, Dr Geoffrey Charles Jolliffe who will explain his role before announcing the winner of the High Sheriff Award.
Refreshments will be available.
I have attached the relevant documents to this message for information.
Hope to see as many of you as possible.
Kind regards Joe Murray QPM Chairperson of Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association | ||
